Valuation of Continuously Monitored Double Barrier Options and Related Securities

چکیده
In this paper, we apply Carr’s randomization approximation and the operator form of theWiener-Hopf method to double barrier options in continuous time. Each step in the resulting backward induction algorithm is solved using a simple iterative procedure that reduces the problem of pricing options with two barriers to pricing a sequence of certain perpetual contingent claims with first-touch single barrier features. This procedure admits a clear financial interpretation that can be formulated in the language of embedded options. Our approach results in a fast and accurate pricing method that can be used in a rather wide class of Lévy-driven models including Variance Gamma processes, Normal Inverse Gaussian processes, KoBoL processes, CGMY model, and Kuznetsov’s β-class. Our method can be applied to double barrier options with arbitrary bounded terminal payoff functions, which, in particular, allows us to price knock-out double barrier put/call options as well as double-no-touch options.

Static Benefits Breaking Barriers
as a way to hedge barrier options when the underlying is a futures price with no drift. Derman, Ergener & Hani (1994) relaxed this drift restriction by introducing an algorithm for hedging barrier options in a bi-nomial model, using options with a single strike but multiple expiries. By contrast, this article provides explicit formulas for static hedges in the standard Black-Scholes (1973) mode...

Barrier options are a widely used class of path-dependent derivative securities. These options either cease to exist or come into existence when some pre-specified asset price barrier is hit during the option’s life. Merton (1973) has derived a down-and-out call price by solving the corresponding partial differential equation with some boundary conditions. Reiner & Rubinstein (1991) published c...
متن کاملBarrier options pricing of fractional version of the Black-Scholes model
In this paper two different methods are presented to approximate the solution of the fractional Black-Scholes equation for valuation of barrier option. Also, the two schemes need less computational work in comparison with the traditional methods. In this work, we propose a new generalization of the two-dimensional differential transform method and decomposition method that will extend the appli...
متن کاملNumerical valuation of discrete double barrier options
In the present paper we explore the problem for pricing discrete barrier options utilizing the Black–Scholes model for the random movement of the asset price. We postulate the problemas a path integral calculation by choosing approach that is similar to the quadrature method. Thus, the problem is reduced to the estimation of a multi-dimensional integral whose dimension corresponds to the number...
متن کاملValuation of American partial barrier options
This paper concerns barrier options of American type where the underlying asset price is monitored for barrier hits during a part of the option’s lifetime. Analytic valuation formulas of the American partial barrier options are provided as the finite sum of bivariate normal distribution functions. This approximation method is based on barrier options along with constant early exercise policies....
